Our Department at a Glance
UII Electrical Engineering Department established on July 22, 1997. Currently, UII’s Electrical Engineering is referring to IABEE (Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education) curriculum. We are ready for international accreditation while maintaining the capabilities for equipping the students with skills in various areas such as Control, Telecommunication, and Power through local uniqueness of disaster mitigation, renewable energy, and biomedical fields. In Control and Automation field, students are trained to be ready to enter the industrial world that implements control system and its supporting tools such as manufacturing industries and process industries (industrial automation) and employs industrial instrumentation. In Telecommunication field, students are trained to be ready to develop a career in the telecommunication industries such as vendors and providers of telecommunications. In Power and Energy field, students are prepared to become a skilled and professional engineer. They will able to solve problems related to electrical and energy in terms of the generation, transmission, and distribution system. In 2016, the department succeeded in obtaining “A” Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) with the Decree No. 0944/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/Vl/2016. Department of Electrical Engineering supported by laboratories, research center, and training room. Some training aimed at equipping and improving student competence is also available: LabView training (site license), PLC, SCADA, microcontroller, FPGA, MATLAB, DSP, and DAQ, telecommunication network planning and optimization, drive test for 2G and 3G networks, and OPNET. Currently, our department has partnerships with academic and industrial fields such as National Instruments, MITI, Kumamoto University, Kansai University, East Weed Seed Indonesia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Malaysia), PUI-PT Mikroelektronika, and Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (Thailand).
